About Us

Kraken Studios is a partnership between three incredible photographers and visual artists: Val Vacious, Amy Carroll and Gregg Snider. The studio is nearly 1800 square feet with 16+ foot ceilings, so we have ample space for projects ranging from headshots to intimate to big production shoots. We have extensive studio lighting options, set pieces, and gorgeous backdrops to nail virtually any look you envision.

We are an inclusive, welcoming, safe space where you can collaborate and create with fun, knowledgable, experienced photographers.

Studio Space & Sets

We have multiple set areas, including a brand-new Gothic-inspired boudoir, Victorian parlor, and a large open space with load-bearing lighting truss. We frequently rotate sets and change looks, and can help create sets to bring your ideas to life. The studio has comfortable seating, a private changing room, dedicated make-up tables, refrigerator & microwave.

Backdrops

We have nearly a dozen different high-quality backdrops, from fantasy to dark/urban to luxurious indoors. We can set up the backdrop that best meets your needs, and fill in with set pieces, furniture and props.
